Crocodile Man Tour in Tarcoles

I would highly recommend taking this tour if you are in the neighborhood. I couldn't believe all the different kinds of birds we saw while cruising down the Tarcoles River. Our guide, Ronnie, actually got in the water with a crocodile and tempted him with a piece of chicken. We saw a really big male croc and a really big female croc. I was REALLY afraid for Ronnie to be in the water with either one of them and doing his "tricks". He did this twice!! with two different crocodiles. Great tour, full of excitement mixed with the tranquility of nature.

I've downloaded some of my photos from the tour so you can enjoy it for yourselves.
Go HERE and click on "View as Slideshow". It takes a little time to load. You can sit back and enjoy the ride down the Tarcoles River with the Crocodile Man Tour.

Folks, I was with Tica Macha on this croc tour and her first words to Ronnie (the tico loco who fed and then RODE, no kidding, the 15 foot croc) were, and I quote: "DOES YOUR MAMA KNOW what YOU'RE DOING?!!!!!" It really was amazing and a bit frightening.
I can't wait to see your pics, Teri.

Cool, very cool. We're interested in going. More details please, cost, how long time wise, etc.

The tour takes a couple of hours, it's best to go on the 4pm tour so you see the sunset where the river meets the ocean. They have different rates so it's best to call first 506-637-0426 and speak with Alex at the desk. He speaks English and is very nice. I just loved this tour but I did NOT want the guide in the water with the croc!!! I have to go back and talk to him about risking his limbs for strangers!!

I'm glad you're having fun touring while your girlfriend is here. We don't do enough of this. I've taken pictures of the crocs from the bridge but I'm not sure I'd like to be this close to them in a boat. I've been to the waterfalls when they were full and it was so beautiful - you'll have to go back again. I love all your pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I wonder how many of the tourists who visit alligator tourist attractions in Florida (me included) would want to feed the crocs in the wilds of Costa Rica?

I saw another blog (Costa Rica HQ) recently on living in CR. His posts are all over the place but the latest is about a massage school.
(I guess we could all use a little relaxation after a day with the crocs!)

I hope this is Barry from The Bridge here in Costa Rica. I would just love the Bribri kids to view the slideshow of Manuel Antonio National Park. I doubt they've ever been. Teri
