EARTHQUAKE Costa Rica
Theses photos are from the earthquake of January 8th, 2009. Mike at www.jacosun.com sent them to me and he obtained them from the Observatorio Vulcanologico y Sismologico de Costa Rica - OVSICORI-UNA. Thanks Mike.
"YO-YO" in Paradise is my acronym for "You're On Your Own". This is not a site for tourist info on Costa Rica. It's just some Tales and Tattles of my experiences, observations, and the ups and downs of every day living by the Pacific Coast in Costa Rica.

Seriously, I am so glad you are okay... that earthquake looks worse every time you post on it...
Wow, excellent photos! Thanks, Teri. I'm going to link back to you... btw, we are freezing up here. Is it nice and warm in Jacó????
I am sorry to hear it's "freezing" there. Those earthquake victims are homeless AND cold. That's sad.
I had thought there would be post set up where you could donate (like the U.S.A.) but if you want to donate, you need to do it at the bank. I've been told you can drop off money at the Red Cross center here in Jaco.
Anyway have any details?
I wanted to put photos because, like me, most people can't imagine the damage 10 seconds (?) can create.
Wow - thanks for the amazing pictures!! So glad that you are ok. Thank you also for posting before and after pictures. It's hard to realize how much damage is done.
People think I'm crazy that I live on the gulf because of hurricanes - but what other natural disaster fo you have at least three days warning!? :)
I couldn't believe the destruction when viewing the before and after. It puts it into perspective. Hurricanes seem pretty tame in comparison.
