Yep, yep. One year from today, "we" will be over there in Beijing China.
What the hell? Who picked there?
I say Boycott China, period.
Dog food, toothpaste, kids toys, stock market, CARS, Olympics,
the whole lot of it.... until they get their crap together (or not).

(sorry, I just had to say that)
(getting down from my soapbox)

If you think you get crap from China in the U.S.A., what do you think we get HERE in Costa Rica?
It's always about the money isn't it. How to make it, how to save it, how to spend it.

B O Y C O T T .... C H I N A

Check this out: "By the Balls" - that's my term for it and thanks WolfieCR for sending me this article. This is all I hear about on CNBC, that and the mortgage lenders and big banks may fall on their face! At least terrorism has taken a backseat to all of this new form of fear.

China practically owns Dominica. Bet our cheap Chinese crap is worse than your cheap Chinese crap!

LOL, Teri

I was reluctant to post this about China but then I remembered, it's my blog.
Dawg it all, they need to tighten up and deliver SAFE stuff! We have enough to worry about than having to check our toothpaste.

I didn't think they could make the crap any cheaper...until I moved to CR. Reading Jen's comment from Dominica I'm really amazed. How the hell can they make cheaper crap then what they send here?????? We refer to the stores selling the stuff as the "chinese shit shops". :)

That's how we got hooked dealing with China, it's cheap to get stuff made there but at who's expense? NOW, it seems not only are the sweat shops suffering in China but we may be too. Just BOYCOTT, that is the only thing that will get their attention.
No mo Money, NO mo money!

Look on the bright side. I guess now our Chinese shit is imported from the US? We'll be cutting out the middleman, getting it direct so it will be even CHEAPER. I hate paying top dollar for cheap shit that falls apart.

I'm not so sure about that, that it will be cheaper getting it direct. Maybe the middlemen just make more so they get EVEN MORE stuff from there.
I'm not even sure it goes through the U.S.A. first, are you?
When I first got here, seemed like all the clothes were imported from Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.
I'd really like to know if stuff goes through U.S. regulators before coming here or it's shipped direct because of some trade treaty Costa Rica has with these other countries.
I'm pretty naive about stuff like this. That's why the easiest thing for me is just not buy it, boycott it.

One more thing, as much as I like Chinese food, I WILL NOT EAT at a Chinese restaurant in Costa Rica. I have no faith in their quality of standards here.

it seems the Chinese read your blog and have decided to retaliate!

You're comment prompted me to add more to my post. I was reluctant to put anything about this on my blog in the first place BUT I'm sick of it and had to vent!
They have the biggest army in the world and now they are attacking our financial institutions in a sneaky snakey fashion?
F 'em. And let the chips fall where they may.

A Chinese pharmaceutical company (WX) rang the opening bell at the stock market today with their new IPO (initial public offering).
Heaven help us.
Are we just "fish in a barrel" now? Suckers for a bargain?

if I end up having kids they will learn some mandarin thats for sure. I would try to learn it myself but I am afraid I am overwhelmed by the complexity of those languages

Also I have to admit I dont totally dislike gatones (cantones with some feline added into it like we Ticos joke LOL)

Thanks but I'll make Chinese at home (NOT).
