Earthquake - Honduras

When I lived in the States, I didn't pay too much attention to news like this. Now my world has shifted and Honduras is so close to Costa Rica, I consider them distant neighbors. In fact, I have a blog friend who lives in Honduras and when I saw the news of a 7.1 quake, I immediately wondered if she and her husband were affected. Blogging has opened up a whole new world for me and I amazed at the generousity of strangers in Blogland.

I am up early because power outages tripped an alarm next door to me and it has been "singing" since 6 p.m. last night. Yes, I called the manager of the building but he is on "Tico Time" and I guess he figured he'd turn it off "Mañana".
IT's MAÑANA!!!

Just like falling off a 20 story building--it's not the fall that kills you, it's the landing. Earthquakes, same-same; it's not the shaking that hurts, it's the building falling on your cabeza. Hopefully, not too many "headaches" in Honduras today. Thanks for being a great reporter from the "Ring of Fire"

Great analogy, Mike.
That alarm next door sounded for 15 hours straight, time for sleep now that they FINALLY shut the mf-er off.

I knew a big one was coming, thought it'd be here. Tues & Wed the sky looked the same as it did the day of the "BIG ONE" in Jan. Piedras in the sky, the clouds formed in waves and broke off into what looked like stepping stones in the sky. I was gonna post about it but Bill said I was nuts. Maybe, maybe not. :)

Thank you for thinking about us, Teri. My world has become much smaller (and friendlier!) through blogging, too. I appreciate the thoughts from all of you out there!

I've since written a few articles about the FOUR earthquakes for anyone who is curious. I think Honduras was very lucky this time.

We personally have only very minor damage -- at least that we've discovered so far. We've been blessing our architect because after having been through this, we are amazed that we don't have more cracks and leaks at a minimum. Wow! That was some experience!
